Palais des Papes

Explore the great halls, chapels and living spaces of the Palais des Papes to understand Avignon’s role in the 14th century. The painted decoration and architecture give a sense of the scale of this papal residence. The visitor route is changing in 2026 and 2027, with new interpretive features. The gardens are included in the palace visit.
